| dc.description | A geografia da saúde constitui importante campo do conhecimentono tratamento da saúde pública. A perspectiva ambiental e a perspectiva das políticas públicas de saúde constituem os dois principais enfoques dos estudos nesse ramo da geografia. Das inúmeras variáveis espaciais tomadas em consideração no âmbito da geografia da saúde destaca-se o clima (perspectiva ambiental). As meningites, e sua manifestação no Estado do Paraná tendo como enfoque principal a manifestação espacial da doença e sua interação com as condições climáticas, compõem o cerne do estudo. O estudo revela que, enquanto as meningites virais apresentam maior incidência no verão e na porção centro-norte-noroeste do Estado (clima Cfa), a incidência das meningites bacterianas é mais evidente na porção sudeste do Estado (Cfb) e marcadamente na estação de inverno. Constatou-se, assim, uma forte sazonalidade e diferenciação espacial na incidência das meningites no Estado do Paraná. | pt-BR |
| dc.description | The geography of health is an important field of knowledge inthe treatment of public health. The environmental perspectiveand the perspective of public health policies are the two mainfocuses of the studies in this branch of geography. Climate isone of the many space variables taken into consideration in thegeography of health (environmental perspective). The meningitisand its manifestation in the state of Paraná with the mainfocus of the display space of the disease and its interactionwith climate conditions, the core component of the study. Thestudy shows that, while viral meningitis has greater impactin the summer and north-central portion in the northwesternstate (climate Cfa), the incidence of bacterial meningitis ismost evident in the southeast portion of the State (Cfb) andmarkedly at winter season. It is therefore a highly seasonaland spatial differentiation in the incidence of meningitis in thestate of Parana. | en-US |
