Teaching about Fungi Kingdom demands a different approach that brings the student closer to the theme. Necessities or weaknesses regarding the materials leave the teacher without support to make the process more dynamic and take the content to the student in all its breadth. This work aims, since its investigation, to recognize missing, repairable and central aspects to the knowledge in the approach of the contents on Mycology, from the conception of High School Biology teachers on public state schools of Joinville region. For the development of the investigation, a questionnaire was applied in order to understand how the Mycology content is worked in the classroom and which tools are available and used by teachers. From data analysis, it was possible to overview the reality of the teacher's practice, with shortcomings, difficulties and potentialities in the approach of the theme and it was also realized the urge for updates in the didactic materials that reach schools and greater investment in education, like in structure, teacher training and in didactic materials.Lecionar o conteúdo sobre o Reino Fungi exige uma abordagem que aproxime o aluno do tema. Necessidades ou fragilidades quanto aos materiais deixam o professor sem suporte para tornar o processo mais dinâmico e mais adequado à realidade do estudante. Assim, este trabalho objetivou reconhecer aspectos faltantes, reparáveis e centrais ao conhecimento na abordagem dos conteúdos sobre Micologia, a partir da concepção dos professores de Biologia no Ensino Médio em escolas estaduais da região de Joinville, Santa Catarina. Para a investigação, foi aplicado um questionário a fim de compreender como o conteúdo de Micologia é trabalhado em sala de aula e quais as ferramentas disponíveis e utilizadas pelos professores. A partir da análise dos dados foi possível ter uma visão geral da realidade de trabalho do professor, sendo constatadas as deficiências, dificuldades e potencialidades na abordagem do tema. Concluímos que existe a necessidade de atualizações nos materiais didáticos que chegam às escolas e maior investimento na educação, tanto em estrutura, formação docente e nos materiais didáticos.
