| dc.description | In this paper we analyze the regulatory experience in Peru for two public utilities. The first one is electricity, where most of the enterprises have been transferred to the private sector and there has been a remarkable quality improvement in the service provision. The second one is the water, a service sector that Peruvian Government has been reluctant to privatize, creating serious problems for an efficient management and the changes to improve the quality of the service. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este trabajo se analizan dos experiencias de regulación en el campo de los servicios públicos. La primera de ellas es la de la electricidad, en donde una parte importante de las empresas del sector han sido privatizadas y el servicio ha experimentado una notable mejoría. La segunda es la del agua potable y desagüe, en donde el gobierno se ha mostrado reticente de privatizar y las empresas se han mantenido dentro de la esfera estatal, creándose serios problemas para un manejo eficiente y una mejoría en la calidad del servicio. | es-ES |
