In May 2003, the National Museum Policy was launched in Brazil, by the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, led by Minister Gilberto Gil, during the first government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
 
Em maio de 2003, foi lançada no Brasil a Política Nacional de Museus, por iniciativa do Ministério da Cultura, tendo a frente o Ministro Gilberto Gil, durante o primeiro governo do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
