| dc.description | The notion of social started to take shape as an object of study of museology from the 70 years of the twentieth century. The social, political, cultural, educational and economic transformations that have been unleashed throughout the second half of the twentieth century were engines for the changes in the theoretical-methodological field of Museology. The New Museology Movement gained strength in almost all of the Western world, proposing and carrying out actions and interactions that aimed to transform the museum-Temple to the consolidation of the Museum-Forum (Cameron, 1971), calling on social subjects to withstand determinism history of heroes and glorious past and actively intervene in favor of a social and culturally transformative present. | dc.description | A noção do social passou a ganhar forma como objeto de estudo da museologia a partir dos anos de 70 do século XX. As transformações socias, políticas, culturais, educativas e económicas que se desencadearam ao longo da segunda metade do século XX foram motores para as mudanças no campo teórico-metodológico da Museologia. O Movimento de Nova Museologia ganhou força em quase todo o mundo Ocidental, propondo e realizando ações e interações museológicas que objetivava a transformação do Museu- Templo para a consolidação do Museu-Fórum (Cameron, 1971), convocando os sujeitos sociais a resistirem aos determinismos da História dos heróis e do passado glorioso e a intervirem ativamente em prol de um presente social e culturalmente transformador.
