dc.description Professor Roland Robertson is one of the most known researchers who have contributed to the worldwide debate on globalisation. His work has been translated into around twenty languages (including German, Japanese, Chinese, French, Arabic, Russian, as well as Brazilian Portuguese), and it counts among the most influential references within the globalisation studies for decades. He is Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), and Emeritus Professor at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). This interview was kindly given by Professor Robertson via correspondence. Thus, instead of having the conventional question/answer format, the Idéias Journal will present the edited core parts of the correspondence between Professor Robertson and Danilo Arnaut, the interviewer. pt-BR
