dc.description	The article intends to revisit part of the history of the movement that embodied much of the struggle for land reform in the country before 1964, the Peasant Leagues. It is intended to explore, starting from the confrontation of different versions of militants and leaders of the movement, the reasons why the Leagues modify, from 1961, its form of action, contemplating even the armed struggle as an alternative of mobilization. The article is intended to suggest the reasons for this change and the implications for the next steps of the social movement.	en-US
dc.description	O artigo pretende revisitar parte da história do movimento que melhor personificou a luta por terra e reforma agrária no Brasil no momento anterior ao golpe militar de 1964, as Ligas Camponesas. Pretende-se explorar, a partir do confronto de diferentes versões de militantes e lideranças do movimento, as razões pelas quais ele se modificou, a partir de 1961, sua forma de atuação, contemplando inclusive a luta armada como alternativa de mobilização. O artigo pretende lançar luz sobre as razões dessa mudança e as suas implicações nos passos seguintes do movimento.	pt-BR
