This article intends to explore the explanatory possibilities related to the main theories and concepts of the sociology of social movements to explain the processes of social mobilization, especially those linked to the struggle in the countryside. In a more specific way, we will present the concept of Collective Action Repertoire, by sociologist Charles Tilly. This concept will be applied in more depth, due to the explanatory potential it presents for the understanding of mobilizations organized jointly by the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) and the Catholic Church. We also propose an improvement of the concept, in terms of the creation of three analytical categories - "direct confrontation", "technical-scientific confrontation" and "information-education" actions - which, according to our judgment, expand the explanatory potential of the concept of collective action repertoire.Este artigo pretende explorar as possibilidades explicativas relacionadas às principais teorias e conceitos da sociologia dos movimentos sociais para explicar os processos de mobilização social, sobretudo àqueles ligados à luta no campo. De modo mais específico específico, realizaremos uma apresentação do conceito de Repertório de Ação Coletiva, do sociólogo Charles Tilly. Tal conceito será aplicado de forma mais aprofundada, em virtude das potencialidades explicativas que apresenta para a compreensão das mobilizações organizadas de forma conjunta pelo Movimento dos Atingidos por Barragens (MAB) e pela Igreja Católica. Propomos, ainda, um aperfeiçoamento do conceito, em termos da criação de três categorias analíticas — “enfrentamento direto”, “enfrentamento técnico-científico” e ações de “informação-educação” —, as quais, de acordo com o nosso julgamento, ampliam o potencial explicativo do conceito de Repertório de Ação Coletiva.
