En este trabajo analizamos el film del director cubano Tomás Gutiérrez Alea titulado Hasta cierto punto (1983), en el que aborda la relación entre una trabajadora portuaria y el guionista de un documental sobre las mujeres obreras. Para nuestro estudio revisamos ciertos tramos del itinerario de Gutiérrez Alea y del desarrollo del cine cubano desde los años sesenta. En primer lugar, abordamos Por primera vez... (1968), el primer corto sobre los inicios del Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográfico (ICAIC). Allí se registra al público campesino que asiste a la proyección de Tiempos Modernos (1936), lo que nos permite pensar un conjunto de problemas también presentes en el discurso de Hasta cierto punto. En segundo lugar, analizamos la relación del cine cubano con las nuevas reflexiones sobre el cine que formularon cineastas de distintos países en los años sesenta y setenta. Y, finalmente, consideramos algunas cuestiones resueltas dramáticamente en Cuba, en lo que toca a la relación entre los intelectuales y la revolución, y sobre todo a la resistencia al mandato de proponer cinematográficamente la representación de un modelo de clase obrera.
In this paper we analyze the film by Cuban director Tomas Gutiérrez Aleaentitled Hasta cierto punto (1983), which addresses the relationship between awoman working port and writer of a documentary on women workers. For ourstudy we review some sections of the itinerary of Gutiérrez Alea and developmentof Cuban cinema since the sixties. First, we address the first film about thebeginnings of the Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográfica (ICAIC),the short entitled Por primera vez (1968), in which the peasant audience that attendsthe screening of register Tiempos Modernos (1936), which allows us to considera set of problems also present in the discourse of Hasta cierto punto. Second,we analyze the relationship of Cuban cinema with new reflections on the cinemamade at international level by the filmmakers of the sixties and seventies. Andfinally consider some issues resolved dramatically in Cuba, in what touches therelationship between intellectuals and revolution, and especially the resistancecinematically mandate to propose a model representing working class.
