Con el avance de las tecnologías se han diversificado las formas de leer y los tipos de lectores, por lo cual se prevé una coexistencia del libro en diversos formatos y el aumento de la lectura en medios electrónicos. El objetivo del presente estudio es describir los cambios provocados en la práctica de la lectura por el avance de la tecnología en la provincia de Sancti Spíritus. A partir de los datos obtenidos se pudo demostrar como las tecnologías han conllevado a transformaciones en las formas de lectura y la relación entre el texto y el lector. A su vez la aparición del lector digital ha impulsado nuevos retos y a continuar estudiando la relación que establece con la pantalla del dispositivo electrónico.The ways to read and the reader's types have diversified with the advance of technologies taking into account the coexistence of the book in various formats and the increase of the reading in electronic supports. The objective of the present study is to describe the changes caused in the practice of reading by the advancement of technology in the province of Sancti Spíritus. From the data obtained, it was possible to demonstrate how technologies have led to transformations in the ways of reading and the relationship between the text and the reader. At the same time, the appearance of the digital reader has led to new challenges and to continue studying the relationship it establishes with the screen of the electronic device.
