| dc.description | In 2018 the Argentine Congress debated for the first time the legalization of Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy within the first 12/14 weeks of pregnancy. Despite this event being unexpected for an important portion of the Argentine society, it was the result of continuous political work accomplished after decades by feminists and its allies. This article describes some of the most important strategies carried out in order to liberalize abortion between the years 2001 and 2019. This is to say, three types of demands are presented: the access to abortion in the cases it is legal according to the existing law; the access to safe abortion and the struggle for the legalization of voluntary termination of pregnancy during the last 18 years. The research was carried out through 17 interviews to key informants from the most important feminist and Human Rights organizations, which were complemented with secondary sources. | en-US |
| dc.description | En el año 2018 por primera vez se debatió en el Congreso argentino la legalización de la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo en el primer trimestre de gestación. Este acontecimiento, que tomó por sorpresa a una gran parte de la sociedad, fue el resultado de un largo trabajo político llevado adelante por los feminismos y sus aliados durante décadas. En el presente artículo se describen algunas de las principales estrategias desplegadas para liberalizar el aborto entre el año 2001 y el 2019. Es decir, se reúnen acciones para mejorar la implementación del aborto legal, desarrollar el acceso al aborto seguro y para la legalización de la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo durante los últimos 19 años. La reconstrucción del proceso fue hecha a partir de 17 entrevistas a informantes clave de las principales organizaciones feministas y de Derechos Humanos que se complementaron con el uso de varias fuentes secundarias. | es-ES |
