The appeal to make the history of anthropologies occupies
an important place in the development of the so called anthropologies
of the South. In this study, it is intended to contribute to the reconstruction of this discipline from our national trajectory, recovering the contributions of outstanding Cuban thinkers, as is the case of
Francisco de Arango y Parreño. In the analysis of his work, some notions and ideas were dentified, and, although they do not constitute a properly anthropological thought, do offer us evidences that help to delimit the path that socio cultural anthropology was taking in our country.
