| dc.description | Québécois literature has much to contribute to francophone literary studies in Brazil through the important literary production of women, such as the award-winning author Anne Hébert. This author portrays, in her vast production, disturbed family relationships that oppose the conservative values of La Grande Noirceur. In Kamouraska (1970), the protagonist Elizabeth d’Aulnières, already in her second marriage to M. Rolland, lives through dreams and hallucinations the guilt of having planned the murder of her first husband, M. Tassy, together with her lover, Dr. George Nelson. Based on discussions of feminist literary criticism, this paper analyzes how the author manipulates the narrative structures of the novel, seeking to show that the reading takes us on a journey through the psychological interior of Elizabeth, which is fragmented into feminine social roles such as woman, mother, and wife, due to the oppression of a patriarchal society. This fragmentation is reflected in the novel, especially by the use of the three narrative voices, which represent and mix Elizabeth’s different roles, revealing that she wears a social mask to shield herself from guilt, not from murder, but from having followed her instincts. | en-US |
| dc.description | A literatura quebequense tem muito a contribuir aos estudos literários de língua francesa no Brasil, através da importante produção literária de mulheres como a premiada autora Anne Hébert, que retrata, em sua vasta obra, relações familiares conturbadas que se opõem aos valores conservadores da La Grande Noirceur. Em Kamouraska (1970), a protagonista, Elizabeth d’Aulnières, já em seu segundo casamento com M. Rolland, vive, por meio de sonhos e alucinações, a culpa de ter planejado o assassinato de seu primeiro marido, M. Tassy, junto com seu amante, o Dr. George Nelson. Com base em discussões da crítica literária feminista, este trabalho analisa como a autora manipula as estruturas narrativas do romance, procurando mostrar que a leitura nos leva em um percurso pelo interior psicológico de Elizabeth, que está fragmentado em papéis sociais femininos, mulher, mãe e esposa, em virtude das opressões de uma sociedade patriarcal. Essa fragmentação é refletida em todo o romance, sobretudo pelo uso das três vozes narrativas, que representam e misturam os diferentes papéis de Elizabeth, revelando que ela usa uma máscara social para se blindar da culpa, não do assassinato, mas a de ter seguido seus instintos. | pt-BR |
