O presente artigo tem como objetivo realizar uma análise acerca da evolução dos estudos dos movimentos sociais, desde uma perspectiva clássica, pautada nos modelos estruturalistas, até o Tempo Presente com os chamados Novos Movimentos Sociais. Para tanto, utilizamos como objeto de pesquisa o movimento zapatista e buscamos mapear como tal movimento vem sendo debatido na academia brasileira e, de mesmo modo, como reflete esta evolução nas perspectivas dos estudos dos novos movimentos sociais e sua integração com o mundo, no intuito da construção de novas realidades possíveis. Por fim, propomos a relevância em se buscar novas perspectivas teórico-metodológicas sobre este campo de estudos.This article aims to analyze the evolution of social movement studies, from a classical perspective, based on structuralist models, to the present time with the so-called New Social Movements. Therefore, we use as object of research the zapatista movement and we seek to map how such movement has been debated in the Brazilian academy and, similarly, as it reflects this evolution in the perspectives of the studies of the new social movements and their integration with the world in order to construction of new possible realities. Finally, we propose the relevance of seeking new theoretical and methodological perspectives on this field of study.
