| dc.description | El artículo comienza advirtiendo que la interpretación de Pico de la Mirándola de la que partimos lo considera como un autor perfectamente encuadrado en la tradición medieval, especialmente patrística. Desde esta perspectiva, se analizan las primeras páginas de la Oratio de dignitate hominis. Inmediatamente, el trabajo intenta mostrar que, en estas páginas, la tesis de Pico, tan celebrada en el ámbito de la libertad humana, tiene un antecedente en la doctrina del amor como pondusde San Agustín. Finalmente, y sobre esta base, se cuestiona la interpretación del Discurso como el manifiesto del Renacimiento. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The article begins establishing that we believe that Pico della Mirandola is an author that can perfectly be framed in the Medieval tradition, especially in the Patristic one. It is from this perspective that the first pages of the Oratio de dignitate hominis are analysed. Immediately, we try to show that, in these pages, Pico’s thesis, so celebrated in the field of human freedom, has a precedent in the doctrine of love as St. Augustine’s pondus. Finally, and on this basis, we present our hesitation to understand the Discourse as the manifesto of the Renaissance. | en-US |
