dc.description	This article indicates that the separation of Policia de Investigaciones de Chile from Carabineros de Chile derived from the doctrinal differences and internal conflicts which caused tensions around the understanding of the procedures and how to carry them out. In this sense, it is proposed that the repressive character was the premise that replaced the scientific discourse which had its breaking point in 1932 with the murder of Luis Mesa and Manuel Anabalón, constituting the beginning of the police reform.	en-US
dc.description	El presente artículo señala que la separación de la policía de Carabineros y su posterior autonomía como Policía de Investigaciones se produjo a partir de las diferencias doctrinarias y conflictos internos que generaron tensiones en torno a la comprensión de los procedimientos y la forma de llevarlos a cabo. En este sentido, se propone que el carácter represivo fue la premisa que reemplazó el discurso científico, el cual tuvo su punto dequiebre en 1932 con el asesinato de Luis Mesa y Manuel Anabalón, dando inicio a la reforma policial.	es-ES
