dc.description	The purpose of this article is to analyze the image of the tango and the fado presented by Tango! and A Severa, the first sound films of Argentina and Portugal respectively, and to consider the similarities between these two processes. These movies channel the collective amazement caused by the spontaneous birth of both musical genres, which soon became national symbols in their corresponding countries, and encourage certain myths related to their histories and their metaphorical universes. We postulate that both productions coincide in mythologizing the tango and the fado, based on four axes: the active feminine, the transgression, the journey and the verticality.	en-US
dc.description	El propósito de este artículo es analizar la imagen del tango y del fado construida por Tango! y A Severa, los primeros filmes sonoros de Argentina y de Portugal, respectivamente, y sopesar las coincidencias entre ambos procesos. En una apuesta nacionalista, estas dos cintas canalizan el asombro colectivo frente a la creación espontánea de estas dos músicas, pronto devenidas símbolos nacionales en sus correspondientes países, y fomentan ciertos mitos relacionados con sus historias y sus universos metafóricos. Postulamos que ambas producciones coinciden en realizar la mitificación del tango y del fado sobre la base de cuatro ejes: lo femenino activo, la transgresión, el traslado y la verticalidad.	es-ES
