| dc.description | This paper presents three textile-making practices performed on a daily basis by rural women who have been victims of the armed conflict in Colombia and who live in the municipalities of Bojayá, Quibdó and Sonsón. These practices were identified through analysis of the textile biographies of women who participate in handicraft and memory sewing groups in each town. We argue that these practices are a form of domestic-scale political resistance that goes along with the collective work these women do. In this sense, throughout the text, we relay how mending and making clothes, rag dolls, and patchwork quilts provide daily opportunities to create a life for oneself in contexts of ongoing political violence. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo despliega tres haceres textiles realizados cotidianamente por mujeres de origen rural que han sido víctimas del conflicto armado en Colombia y que habitan los municipios de Bojayá, Quibdó y Sonsón. Estos haceres fueron identificados en el análisis de las biografías textiles realizadas a mujeres pertenecientes a grupos de artesanía y costureros de la memoria en cada una de las localidades. Argumentamos que dichas prácticas son formas de resistencia política a escala doméstica que acompañan el trabajo colectivo del que forman parte estas mujeres. En este sentido, a lo largo del texto damos cuenta de cómo el remendar, la confección de ropa junto con la elaboración de muñecas de trapo y colchas de retazos configuran posibilidades cotidianas de inventarse la vida en contextos en los que la violencia política permanece. | es-ES |
