| dc.description | Nowadays the policies related with the historical memory and cultural heritage are at the heart of public debate in Colombia. The Victims and Land Restitution law from 2011 -one of the priorities of the Santos' government- is shaping a new official narrative about the horrors that have stained with blood the country. It is happening through a series of normative definitions of armed conflict, its duration, actors and victims. However, very little has been said so far about the emerging dispute regarding the control of the Colombian past in the public space of Bogotá. The article focuses on the history of the area where the Central Cemetery is located which now hosts Center for Memory, Peace and Reconciliation. The city of the dead is becoming the main stage to exhibit a national memory in which diverse conflicting historical perspectives fight each other for visibility. | en-US |
| dc.description | Hoy en día las políticas relacionadas con memoria histórica y patrimonio cultural están en el corazón mismo del debate público en Colombia. La Ley de Víctimas y Restitución de Tierras de 2011 –una de las prioridades del gobierno de Santos– está plasmando una nueva narrativa oficial sobre los horrores que han ensangrentado el país, a través de una serie de definiciones normativas sobre el conflicto armado, su duración, sus actores y sus víctimas. Sin embargo, muy poco se ha dicho hasta ahora con respecto a la incipiente disputa en torno al control del pasado colombiano en el espacio público de Bogotá. El artículo se enfoca en la historia del área del Cementerio Central,que ahora hospeda el Centro de Memoria, Paz y Reconciliación. La ciudad de los muertos está volviéndose el principal escenario para poner en escena una memoria nacional en la que diversas perspectivas históricas en conflicto luchan entre sí por su visibilidad. | es-ES |
