| dc.description | This article compares the Eucharstic Congresses of 1913 and 1968 in Colombia and argues that, in effect, the fifty-five years separating the two meetings represent a dramatic change in Colombian church-state relations. By 1968, many priests, bishops and citizens in Colombia and Latin America had been «converted» because they now understood the role and power of the poor and the sought to define and solve problems from the perspective of the poor rather than from the perspective of the hiercarchical Church or State. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo compara el Congreso Eucarístico de 1913 y 1968 en Colombia argumentando que, en efecto, los cincuenta y cinco años que los separan representan un cambio dramático en la relación iglesia-estado en el país. Para 1968, varios sacerdotes, obispos y ciudadanos de Colombia y América Latina habían sido «convertidos» pues comprendían el rol y el poder de los pobres y buscaban definir y resolver problemas desde su perspectiva en lugar de hacerlo desde la posición de la jerarquía eclesiástica o del estado. | es-ES |
