dc.description	This article analyzes the literary representation of the press, radio, and intellectuals in two novels written in response to Bogotá’s 1948 riot, el Bogotazo: El 9 de Abril (1951) by Pedro Gómez Corena and La Calle 10 (1960) by Manuel Zapata Olivella. These texts contain two antithetical visions of the uprising, and instrumentalize the riot in favor of their own intellectual and political agendas. On the one hand, Gómez Corena’s novel interprets the riot as an external intervention led by Russian communism. On the other hand, Zapata Olivella represents it as a failed, yet necessary revolutionary attempt. The essay argues that both novels formulate an antagonistic view about intellectuals, their roles during the riot, and the mass media they intervened in. In that, the novels reveal a series of literate anxieties about the role of crowds in the city.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo analiza la representación de la radio y la prensa en dos novelas del bogotazo: El 9 de abril (1951) de Pedro Gómez Corena y La calle 10 (1960) de Manuel Zapata Olivella. Estas obras contienen dos visiones antitéticas sobre la revuelta popular. Mientras que el texto de Gómez Corena interpreta la violencia del bogotazo como una intervención del comunismo internacional, la novela de Zapata Olivella representa la revuelta como un intento fallido, pero perfectible, de una revolución armada por venir. Ambos textos formulan también una valoración antagónica sobre el papel de los intelectuales durante la revuelta y sobre los medios de comunicación masiva que estos intervienen. Este artículo estudia entonces, por un lado, cómo dichas novelas instrumentalizan la violencia del bogotazo, en favor de sus propios proyectos intelectuales y políticos. Y, por otro lado, cómo estas representaciones contienen una serie de ansiedades letradas sobre las masas urbanas, sobre la potencialidad de su violencia en la ciudad y sobre los medios de comunicación masivos.	es-ES
