dc.description	This paper asks about the possibilities to fit together the theoretical perspectives of Michel Foucault and Ernesto Laclau. With this aim, the article makes a review of their main works, looking for similarities and distinctions, principally around the notions of subject and discourse. Both authors coincide on the assumption that discourses determine the construct of subjectivities. However, they show different conceptions of discourse and, therefore, their identification processes assume specific characteristics. At the same time, the authors emphasize different analytical categories. Thus, while antagonisms and hegemony are keys to Laclau’s approach, knowledge, power, and truth are central issues in Foucault’s thought. Beyond its peculiarities, these perspectives constitute a central pillar for the critique of essentialist approaches, which display a totalizing and objective view of the social reality.. Moreover, Laclau’s and Foucault’s perspectives allows us to understand that there are neither natural or true discourses, nor established once and for all.	en-US
dc.description	Este trabajo se interroga sobre las posibilidades de compatibilizar las perspectivas teóricas de Michel Foucault y de Ernesto Laclau. Para esto se revisan algunas de sus principales obras, buscando puntos de encuentro y de distanciamiento en lo que concierne, fundamentalmente, a las concepciones de sujeto y discurso. Se advierte que ambos autores coinciden en la presunción de que los discursos condicionan la constitución de las subjetividades; no obstante, se distancian en su entendimiento de la noción de discurso y, por ende, en las modalidades que adquieren los procesos de identificación. A su vez, ponen énfasis en categorías analíticas diferentes. De tal forma, antagonismos y hegemonía resultan clave en el enfoque laclauniano, y saber, poder, verdad, son centrales en la perspectiva foucaultiana. Más allá de sus especificidades, las perspectivas teóricas de Laclau y Foucault constituyen un pilar central en la crítica a los enfoques esencialistas que presentan una visión totalizante y objetiva de la realidad social; su desarrollo permite comprender que no hay discursos naturales o verdaderos, ni instaurados de una vez y para siempre.	es-ES
