dc.description	The article shows an historical character of the academic narratives that qualify the existence of the state as absent, weak or failed. Using the methodology of discourse analysis, the article aims to compare the regenerative narrative about the disaster in the state with contemporary academic discourses built around the pathology of the public apparatus and the failure of the state. Despite their apparent differences in ideology, these political discourses of the nineteenth century and the contemporary academic narrative show surprising coincidences. These convergences can be interpreted as strong reactions to a symbolic absence of authority and public force in the Colombian context. The author concludes with a reflection on the historical character of the academic narratives.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo se pregunta por la historicidad de las narrativas académicas que califican la existencia del estado como ausente, precaria o fallida. Utilizando la metodología del análisis de discurso se tiene como objetivo contrastar las narrativas regeneradoras en torno a la catástrofe del estado con los discursos académicos contemporáneos construidos en torno a la patología e insuficiencia del aparato público. Pese a sus aparentes diferencias ideológicas, el discurso político del siglo xix y la narrativa académica contemporánea, muestran fuertes coincidencias, como reacciones a una ausencia simbólica de autoridad o fuerza de gobierno. La autora concluye con una reflexión en torno a la historicidad de las narrativas académicas, identificando el discurso de la patología del estado como una Regeneración deslocalizada.	es-ES
