Within the archaeo-genealogical method and from the perspective of Foucauldian governmentality, this qualitative reflection paper seeks to determine how Preschool School Manuals (MANESP) constitute a space for enunciating of the way in which power, school knowledge, and subjectivity operate in preschool education. With this research exercise, an attempt is made to enrich the field related to the history of MANESP, a realm that has been consolidating as a scenario for investigative, educational, and pedagogical exploration. To this effect, what can be said (scenarios, subjects, and knowledge) and what is visible (facts, characters, and institutions) are excavated in preschool education texts, which account for the conditions of existence of the MANESP and the way in which these discursivities are established to guide the functioning of school knowledge, power, and subjective child education.
