dc.description	From the point of view of the European aesthetics in the sixteenth-century, the pictorial dialogue established between Jacques Le Moyne and Theodore de Bry is of great importance for the history of the representation of the indigenous peoples. Based on Colombian academic settings, this article offers an introduction to the interpretation of some images that are necessary to understand how the indigenous people stopped being, in the European imagination, a monster to become a sort of noble savage. The engravings of Le Moyne and De Bry about the Timucua’s people have contributed, in their own way, to the understanding of American indigenous.	en-US
dc.description	El diálogo pictórico que establecen Jacques Le Moyne y Théodore de Bry es importante para la historia de la representación del indígena desde la estética europea del siglo xvi. Este artículo es una introducción, teniendo en cuenta el ámbito académico colombiano, a la interpretación de unas imágenes que son indispensables para comprender de qué manera el indígena pasó, en el imaginario occidental, de ser un monstruo a ser una suerte de buen salvaje. Los grabados de Le Moyne y De Bry, sobre los timucuas han aportado, a su modo, al tema de la comprensión del indio americano.	es-ES
