dc.description	This article aims to show the struggles between settlers, environmental authorities andland owners around the extraction of forest materials in the basin of Piedras Blancas at Santa Elena village in the municipality of Medellín. The research that led to the present work was founded by the Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM), Corantioquia and the Universidad de Antioquia in 2006. The main focus of interest of this article is the dialogue between local and institutional knowledges, which makes visible the role of the other (i. e. the peasant) as a constitutive part of the forest. The geographical areas where these research was conducted are the Piedra Gorda vereda, and two sectors within it: El Cerezo and El Hoyito. The results obtained reveal a collector peasant (musguero) whose environmental practices have commonly been invisible. The environmental laws argue that musgueros work illegally; however, their knowledges and initiatives, have not been properly taken in account.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo pretende mostrar la tensión generada entre pobladores, autoridades ambientales y propietarios de la tierra por la actividad extractiva de materiales del bosque en la cuenca de Piedras Blancas en el corregimiento de Santa Elena, municipio de Medellín. La investigación que dio origen al presente trabajo fue financiada por Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM), Corantioquia y la Universidad de Antioquia en el año 2006. El hilo conductor es guiado por el diálogo entre saberes locales e institucionales, intentando así visibilizar al otro, como parte constitutiva del bosque. Los puntos geográficos del trabajo se centraron en la vereda Piedra Gorda, incluyendo allí a El Cerezo y El Hoyito. Los resultados obtenidos nos muestran a un campesino colector que ha sido invisibilizado. Según la normatividad ambiental, el musguero opera ilegalmente, no obstante, sus conocimientos y propuestas no han sido debidamente atendidos.	es-ES
