| dc.description | Death, for human beings, is not a natural process, but rather a cultural fact based in and catalyst for diverse social behaviors, generally materialized in funeral rites. This article presents some theoretical elements from anthropology and sociology to explain the concepts of rite, symbol and representation which are then articulated with a survey of the concept of refutation in Freud, in order to arrive at an proposal for a concept of the denied of death. The topic of death is looked at from the perspective of anthropology, explaining the different conceptions and representations regarding the treatment of the cadaver, a principle element in funeral rites. Finally, discussion centers on explaining how funeral rites become ways of refuting death. | en-US |
| dc.description | La muerte, para los humanos, no es un proceso natural sino un hecho cultural, fundado en y fundador de diversos comportamientos sociales, generalmente materializados en ritos funerarios. En este artículo se presentan algunos elementos teóricos desde la antropología y la sociología para explicar los conceptos de rito, símbolo y representación, lo cual se articula con un rastreo del concepto de desmentida en Freud, para arribar a la propuesta de un concepto de desmentida de la muerte. Se toma el tema de la muerte desde la perspectiva antropológica, explicando las diferentes concepciones y representaciones en torno del tratamiento cadáver, elemento principal en los ritos funerarios. Finalmente, se recogen todos estos elementos para explicar cómo los ritos funerarios se convierten en formas de desmentida de la muerte. | es-ES |
