| dc.description | Social representations (SR) are cognitive elaborations, structured and shared by a community. SRs are defined by an interpretative system that provides a group of individuals with common referents. The current research identifies the social representations that Medellin City’s homeless people have about their condition, and those SR that municipal administrators and social workers have about them. For this exploratory research ten interviews were conducted with homeless people, and another ten with municipal workers from Medellin’s Care System for the Homeless. It is concluded from the research that there is no unified Social Representation for the people concerned with Medellin’s Care System for the Homeless. But it is possible to describe an agreement about the social cognitive processes that create the homeless Social Representations, and that determine the judgments and actions concerning the object of the representation. | en-US |
| dc.description | Las representaciones sociales (RS) son formaciones cognitivas compartidas por un mismo grupo social. Las RS se definen por el sistema de interpretación que proporciona a un grupo de individuos un referente común. Este trabajo identifica las RS que tienen los Habitantes en Situación de Calle (HSC) de la ciudad de Medellín (Colombia) y los funcionarios de la administración municipal que trabajan con esta población. Para esta investigación exploratoria se realizaron 10 entrevistas a Habitantes en Situación de Calle (HSC) y a 10 operadores del Sistema de Atención al Habitante de Calle de la ciudad de Medellín. Se concluye que no hay una RS unificada dentro del grupo investigado de implicados en el Sistema de Atención al HSC. Sin embargo es posible reconocer un acuerdo en el proceso socio-cognitivo que elabora las representaciones sociales del HSC y determina los juicios y acciones respecto al objeto de representación. | es-ES |
