| dc.description | This article is the resultofresearchcarried out between 2009 and 2010 in seven cities in Colombia; Changes and conflicts of households face the international migration, which seeks to understand-from a gender perspective- the changes in the composition, the roles and the relationships of families with children under 24 years when their parents (mother or father) have migrated abroad. The evidence gathered in interviews with families living in a transnational situation, allowed to us an approach to the emotional drama triggered from migration; these testimonies account for the resources developed by the children before the need for new strategies for fulfilling the family functions, revealing the formation of social networks from migration.This paper -in particular- brings us closer to meaning of change that the narrators give to their lives from their parents’ immigration, which borders on two extremes: those who have performed the migration as a cause of multiple feelings of abandonment and loneliness, presenting difficulties in behavior, which has been called extreme situations; and to whom that meant an opportunity to gain greater autonomy over their lives and development. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente artículo es resultado del trabajo investigativo desarrollado entre 2009 y 2010 en siete ciudades en Colombia, titulado Cambios y conflictos de los grupos familiares frente a la migración internacional; en el que se pretendía comprender -desde una perspectiva de género- los cambios en la composición, las funciones y las relaciones de familias con hijos e hijas menores de 24 años, cuando el padre y/o la madre han migrado hacia el exterior. Los testimonios recogidos en entrevistas a familias en situación de transnacionalidad, permitieron un acercamiento al drama emocional desencadenado a partir de la migración, estos testimonios dan cuenta de la recursividad desarrollada por los hijos y las hijas ante la necesidad de establecer nuevas estrategias para el cumplimiento de las funciones familiares; revelando a los investigadores la forma como se va dando toda una conformación de redes sociales, a partir del fenómeno migratorio. Este escrito nos acerca particularmente al significado del cambio que los y las narradoras dan a sus vidas a partir del suceso migratorio de sus padres o madres, el cual confronta en dos extremos: quienes han interpretado la migración como causante de múltiples sentimientos de abandono y soledad, presentándose dificultades en su comportamiento, lo que se ha denominado como situaciones límites; y a quienes les significó una oportunidad para adquirir mayor autonomía y desarrollo sobre sus vidas. | es-ES |
