The work, analytical category from the sociology has been understood and analyzed in a diverse way throughout the time, for the social, economic and political importance of this one. Of the same way, the concretion of the rules of the labor market has been another central element in the analysis of the dynamics of the countries for the possibilities of accumulation that it generates. For that, in the present article it is interested in realizing of some of the principal in force discussions in the conformation of these categories. It is interested in raising -in the first moment- some theoretical elaborations that are generated from the sociology of the work, with relation to the concept employed at two directions: which has been named a question to the classic concept of work, and related to the paper of work in the life of people in a context of shortage of the same one. Another discussion of interest this, is related to the regulation and deregulation of the labor market, in relation to its processes and actors. What is claimed by this text is to raise an analytical position opposite to the existing debates, and to continue paying to the discussion in the Latin-American case.El trabajo, como categoría analítica desde la sociología ha sido entendido y analizado de manera diversa a lo largo del tiempo, por su importancia social, económica y política. De la misma manera, la concreción de las reglas del mercado de trabajo ha sido otro elemento central en el análisis de las dinámicas de los países por las posibilidades de acumulación que genera. Por este motivo, el presente trabajo da cuenta de algunas de las principales discusiones vigentes en la conformación de estas categorías. Interesa plantear -en un primer momento- algunas elaboraciones teóricas que se están generando desde la sociología del trabajo, en relación con el concepto trabajo en dos direcciones, lo que se ha denominado un cuestionamiento al concepto clásico de trabajo, y lo relacionado al papel del trabajo en la vida de las personas en un contexto de precarización del mismo. En un segundo momento, se plantea la discusión sobre la regulación y desregulación del mercado de trabajo, en relación con los procesos y actores que entran en juego en esta definición. Lo que se pretende con este texto es plantear una posición analítica frente a los debates existentes, y seguir abonando a la discusión en el caso latinoamericano.
