This essay identifies and analyzes the characteristics of the daily life of workers in Xcumpich, a henequén hacienda of Yucatán, at the beginning of 20th century. It explores the main problems those workers experienced, the situations that made their life bearable, as well as the benefits they received by living in the hacienda, including health care and preferential treatment for the elderly. Finally, it determines the role played by the chapel and housing in the life of the hacienda inhabitants.El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar y analizar las características de la vida diaria de los trabajadores de Xcumpich, una hacienda henequenera de Yucatán, a comienzos del siglo XX. El artículo explora los principales problemas por los que pasaron esos trabajadores, las situaciones que les hicieron más llevadera la vida y los beneficios que tenían al vivir en la hacienda, así como la atención sanitaria y el trato preferencial para los ancianos. Asimismo, determina el papel que tuvieron la capilla y la vivienda en la vida de los habitantes de la hacienda.O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar e analisar as características da vida cotidiana dos trabalhadores da fazenda de sisal Xcumpich, em Yucatán, em começos do século XX.
