dc.description	This article explores the origins of special education in Latin America. From a genealogical and archaeological perspective, it analyses —in the context of the foundation of public schools— the discourses that are at the base of the institutionalization and education of the infancy that has been considered abnormal. It also explores the evolution of the path that goes from hygienic medicine at the end of XIX century to the discourse of psychoanalysis and the new school, from the theory of degeneration to mental hygiene, and from the first schools for weak children to the expansion of the differential apparatus. Using a genealogical approach, this text focuses on both the production of (psychiatric, pedagogical, psychological...) knowledge, and the objectivation of subjects (as normal/abnormal, ill/healthy, and the like), as well as on the description and interpretation of the established relations of power.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo explora los orígenes de la educación especial en América Latina. Desde un enfoque genealógico y arqueológico, analiza —en el contexto fundacional de la escuela pública— los discursos que fundamentaron la institucionalización y la educación de la infancia considerada anormal. Indaga cómo se dibujó el camino que va de la medicina higienista de fines de siglo XIX al discurso del psicoanálisis y la escuela nueva, de la teoría de la degeneración a la higiene mental, de las primeras escuelas para niños débiles hasta la expansión del aparato diferencial. Utiliza un enfoque genealógico, focalizando tanto en la producción de saber (psiquiátrico, pedagógico, psicológico, etc.), en la objetivación de sujetos (normal / anormal; enfermo / sano, etc.) como en la descripción e interpretación de las relaciones de poder constituidas.	es-ES
dc.description	L’article explore les origines de l’éducation spéciale en Amérique latine. Depuis un centre généalogique et archéologique il analyse - dans le contexte constitutif de l’école publique - les discours qui ont fondé l’institutionnalisation et l’éducation de l’enfance considérée anormale. Ce texte enquête aussi sur la manière comme a été tracée la route qui va de la médecine hygiéniste de la fin du XIXème siècle au discours de la psychanalyse et la nouvelle école, de la théorie de la dégénérescence à l’hygiène mentale, des premières écoles pour enfants faibles jusqu’à l’expansion de l’appareil différentiel. Il utilise un centre généalogique en mettant l’accent tant dans la production de savoir (psychiatrique, pédagogique, psychologique, etc.) que dans l’objectivation de sujets (normal / anormal; personne malade / saine, etc.) ainsi que dans la description et interprétation des rapports de pouvoir constitués.	fr-CA
