dc.description	Learning the English language in Panama has been an important element in the population’s attempt to achieve better jobs and academic opportunities. At the same time, the constant increase of new technologies and tools made available to education has allowed new possibilities for learning English. That is why the present research addressed the existing relationship between the use of ICT as a teaching method and the learning of the English language in a university classroom, for which a population composed of fourth year students of the Bachelor’s degree in English as a Second Language with an emphasis on Teaching Methodology of the Autonomous University of Chiriqui, in Panama, enrolled in the second semester of 2022 was studied. This study did not require a sample since the entire population was studied. In total, 25 students aged 19-25, composed of 17 women and 8 men participated. A questionnaire that was self-administered by the students who participated in the research was used for this study. The data obtained were analyzed through the correlation between variables. The results showed a positive correlation between the use of ICT and better learning of English, this correlation can be interpreted in better assimilation of the new language and, consequently, a quicker mastery of the different aspects involved in its learning, such as grammar and pronunciation.	en-US
dc.description	El aprendizaje del idioma inglés en Panamá ha sido un elemento importante en el intento de la población de lograr mejores empleos y oportunidades académicas. Al mismo tiempo, el incremento constante de nuevas tecnologías y herramientas puestas a disposición de la educación, han permitido nuevas posibilidades a la hora de aprender inglés. Es por esto que la presente investigación abordó la relación existente entre el uso de las TIC como método de enseñanza y el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en un aula de clase a nivel universitario, para lo cual se estudió una población compuesta por los estudiantes del cuarto año de la “Licenciatura en inglés como Segundo Idioma con énfasis en Metodología de la Enseñanza”, de la Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí, en Panamá, matriculados en el segundo semestre del 2022. Este estudio no requirió una muestra en vista de que toda la población fue estudiada. En total fueron 25 estudiantes con un rango de edad entre 19-25 años, compuesto por 17 mujeres y 8 varones.  Para este estudio se utilizó un cuestionario que fue autoadministrado por los estudiantes que participaron en la investigación, Los datos que se obtuvieron fueron analizados a través de la correlación entre variables. Los resultados demostraron una correlación positiva del uso de las TIC con un mejor aprendizaje del inglés, esta correlación se puede interpretar en una mejor asimilación del nuevo idioma y, en consecuencia, un dominio más rápido de los distintos aspectos involucrados dentro de su aprendizaje, como lo son, la gramática y la pronunciación.	es-ES
