dc.description	This communication is a reflection on the importance of information today, and the need that, by turning it into knowledge and technology, the ethics and morals of the society in which it is developed accompany the process. With information technologies, social networks and communication there is an immense flow of information of all kinds, available to anyone and anywhere, but the veracity of a certain knowledge requires that it be authentic and relevant to be accepted. Otherwise, there is a risk of facing distorted arguments and fake news. It is essential that the population have the ability to identify scientifically validated knowledge. The poor dissemination of Science leaves spaces for pseudoscientific currents that do not liberate man, but rather confuse and subjugate him. In the Age of Knowledge, due to the arrogance of rationality and modern thought, the consequences of scientific illiteracy are much more dangerous than in any previous one. Therefore, it is necessary that the Central American pedagogy and didactics be more diligent and go, in accordance with the postulates of the edifying comprehensive pedagogy, beyond learning and knowledge, that they do not neglect their function of educating, that they teach by educating and encourage students to become true educational agents and better human beings. The Central American educational process, in its Pedagogy, must incorporate a mesoaxiological perspective, where students actively participate in the construction of a more humane world, a world for life. Scientific and technical knowledge must be disseminated so that its benefits reach the entire population. This implies unprecedented challenges for contemporary higher education, but such a challenge can be a valuable educational resource to train critical, thoughtful and socially prepared citizens for their performance in today’s globalized world.	en-US
dc.description	Esta comunicación es una reflexión sobre la importancia de la información en la actualidad, y la necesidad de que, al convertirla en conocimiento y tecnología, la ética y la moral de la sociedad en la que se desarrolla acompañen el proceso. Con las tecnologías de la información, las redes sociales y la comunicación existe un inmenso flujo de información de todo tipo, al alcance de cualquier persona y en cualquier lugar, pero la veracidad de un determinado conocimiento requiere que tenga autenticidad y pertinencia para ser aceptada. De lo contrario, hay riesgo de enfrentarse a argumentos distorsionados y noticias falsas. Es fundamental que la población tenga la capacidad de identificar conocimientos validados científicamente. La deficiente divulgación de la Ciencia deja espacios a corrientes pseudocientíficas que no liberan al hombre, sino que lo confunden y subyugan. En la Era del Conocimiento, debido a la prepotencia de la racionalidad y del pensamiento moderno, las consecuencias del analfabetismo científico son mucho más peligrosas que en ninguna anterior. Por lo tanto, es necesario que la pedagogía y la didáctica centroamericana sean más acuciosas y vayan, de acuerdo con los postulados de la pedagogía comprensivo edificadora, más allá del aprendizaje y el conocimiento, que no descuiden su función de educar, que enseñen educando y promuevan que los estudiantes se conviertan en verdaderos agentes educativos y mejores seres humanos. Al proceso educativo centroamericano, en su Pedagogía, se le debe incorporar una perspectiva mesoaxiológica, donde los estudiantes participen de manera activa en la construcción de un mundo más humano, un mundo para la vida. El conocimiento científico y técnico debe ser difundido para que sus beneficios lleguen a toda la población. Esto implica desafíos sin precedentes para la educación superior contemporánea, pero tal desafío puede ser un valioso recurso educativo para formar ciudadanos críticos, reflexivos y socialmente preparados para su desempeño en el mundo globalizado de hoy.	es-ES
