| dc.description | This research reports an example of the field of action of STEM education where the aim is the articulation of knowledge to achieve significant learning. The biomechanics of the hand is analyzed as the articulation of concepts of anatomy and physiology with physics, engineering and/or mechanics, among many others, to investigate the use of various rehabilitation techniques aimed at improving the labor and social reintegration of people who have been victims of physical impairments. This is an interdisciplinary research process where scientific and applied areas converge, assuming as the object of research the injuries in the upper limb of the human body, which in many cases are due to accidents at work, but in others, it is caused by accidents at home or fortuitous situations; which require complex surgeries that must be accompanied by long rehabilitation processes aimed at mitigating the functional affectations in the patient. The importance of certain physical concepts that must be understood by the professional who carries out the rehabilitation is emphasized. | en-US |
| dc.description | Esta investigación reporta un ejemplo del campo de acción de la educación en STEM donde lo que se pretende es la articulación de los saberes para alcanzar aprendizajes significativos. Se analiza la biomecánica de la mano como la articulación de conceptos de anatomía y fisiología con la física, la ingeniería y/o la mecánica, dentro de muchos otros; para indagar sobre el uso de diversas técnicas de rehabilitación tendientes a mejorar la reinserción laboral y social en aquellas personas que han sido víctimas de afectaciones físicas. Este es un proceso de investigación interdisciplinar en dónde confluyen las áreas científicas y aplicadas, asumiendo como objeto de investigación las lesiones en el miembro superior del cuerpo humano, que en muchos casos se deben a accidentes laborales, pero en otros, es propiciada por accidentes en el hogar o situaciones fortuitas; que demandan de cirugías complejas que deben ser acompañadas de largos procesos de rehabilitación tendientes a mitigar las afectaciones funcionales en el paciente. Se resalta la importancia de ciertos conceptos físicos que deben ser comprendidos por el profesional que adelanta la rehabilitación. | es-ES |
