| dc.description | Since the declaration of the pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), the country’s economy was strongly affected by the quarantine and the closure of all economic sectors, including the hotel industry, which was one of the most affected. This situation put this sector in check, where it was necessary to somehow reinvent itself and generate strategies so as not to lose its current and potential clients, clients or tourists who regularly came to our city. The Norte de Santander Department does not escape this reality, and to this is added that the lodging services sector had already been facing problems since 2015 derived from the closure of the border with Venezuela, which was affecting the occupation of the sector, but at the stage pandemic According to data consulted at the Tourist Information Center (CITUR) of the Colombian Ministry of Industry and Commerce and DANE (2020, August), hotel occupancy in Norte de Santander reached 2.1%, strongly affecting the finances of the sector. In order to know the impact of confinement in said sector, a qualitative research was carried out, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. | dc.description | A partir de la declaratoria de la pandemia por la Organización mundial de la salud (OMS), la economía del país se vio fuertemente afectada por la cuarentena y el cierre de todos los sectores económicos, entre ellos el hotelero, quien fue uno de los más afectados. Esta situación puso en jaque a dicho sector, donde fue necesario en cierto modo reinventarse y generar estrategias para no perder sus clientes actuales y potenciales, los clientes o turistas que venían regularmente a la ciudad de Cúcuta. El Departamento Norte de Santander no escapa a esta realidad y a esto se suma que el sector de servicios de alojamiento ya venía enfrentando problemas desde el año 2015 derivados del cierre de la frontera con Venezuela lo cual estaba afectando la ocupación del sector, pero en la etapa pandémica de acuerdo con datos consultados en el Centro de Información Turística (CITUR) del Ministerio de Industria y Comercio de Colombia y el DANE (2020, agosto) la ocupación hotelera del Norte de Santander alcanzó el 2,1% afectando fuertemente las finanzas del sector. Para conocer el impacto del confinamiento en dicho sector, se realizó una investigación de tipo cualitativo, con un diseño no experimental de tipo transversal. La reducción de turistas ha debilitado toda la cadena turística, especialmente a los hoteles, los cuales debido al distanciamiento social y a los protocolos de bioseguridad, han visto enormemente disminuido el alquiler de los salones y demás sitios de recreación y esparcimiento que ofrecen en el mismo. | es-ES |
