This article presents a reflection on the connections posed by María Elvira Escallón’s work In Vitro between the meanings carried by the Sabana Station building, its intervention for the realization of an artistic event and that expression of the common that the work makes sensitive. The objective is to explore in context the connection between the ontology of the common and the significant elements presented by Escallón’s work. The cultural link with the common allows us to take a particular look at this work by Escallón and at the role of the contemporary work of art and its response to the contextual conditions that give rise to it.Este artículo presenta una reflexión en torno a las conexiones que plantea la obra In Vitro de María Elvira Escallón entre las significaciones que porta el edificio de la Estación de la Sabana, su intervención para la realización de un evento artístico y aquella expresión de lo común que la obra hace sensible. El objetivo es explorar en contexto la conexión entre la ontología de lo en común y los elementos significantes que presenta la obra citada de Escallón. El vínculo cultural con lo común permite adoptar una mirada particular hacia esta obra de Escallón y al papel de la obra de arte contemporáneo y su respuesta a las condiciones contextuales que le dan lugar.
