| dc.description | Social demands are supported in the roles of activities that are defined for men and women during childhood and they are accentuated at the start of sexual activity, which usually happens in the period of adolescence. For this reason, it is important to understand the relationship between the meanings of the concept of "sexuality" and those associated with work activity during this stage of life. This research seeks to discover the meanings attributed by adolescents in specific situations with their own particular language. We propose a qualitative perspective about the following topics: adolescent male stereotype, conceptualization of sexuality and parenthood. The study included the participation of 35 young men between 13 and 16 years of age, which were interviewed individually and in groups. After the analysis, were found various categories related to gender stereotypes, motherhood, parenting, life plan, and sexuality, among others. We also found that the execution of the roles is a key element in building the stereotype of gender, the gender identity and behavior. The stereotype of paternity is made of several positive and negative beliefs that influence the exercise of sexuality. There is not a positive attitude to fatherhood; however they accept it as a natural step which brings them certain benefits. | en-US |
| dc.description | Los roles sociales de género aprendidos en la niñez se acentúan en la adolescencia y se refuerzan con el inicio de la vida sexual. Por esta razón, es importante comprender el vínculo entre los significados asignados a la ‘sexualidad’ y las responsabilidades asociadas con la paternidad y maternidad entre los adolescentes. La presente investigación se apoyó en estrategias de recolección y análisis de datos cualitativos alrededor de los siguientes temas: estereotipo de hombre entre adolescentes, significado de la sexualidad y la paternidad. Para este estudio, se contó con la participación de 35 adolescentes varones entre 13 y 16 años, a los cuales se les realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas de manera individual y grupal. A partir del análisis de contenido realizado, se encontraron categorías relacionadas con los estereotipos de género, maternidad, paternidad, plan de vida, sexualidad, etc. Entre los hallazgos se destaca que el estereotipo de paternidad está formado por varias creencias positivas y negativas que influyen en el ejercicio de la sexualidad; además, no hay una disposición favorable hacia la paternidad, sin embargo la aceptan como una etapa natural que les trae ciertos beneficios. Se puede concluir que el ejercicio de los roles juega un papel determinante en la construcción del estereotipo, de la identidad de género y de la conducta. | es-ES |
