dc.description	The mental health of students is a common problem in higher education institutions. The demand for attention often excedes available hours, which forces more efficient planning and analysis of the service’s statistics. This research describes the characteristics of students admitted to a unit of psychological attention since it’s creation in october 2007 until January 2009. Demographic information, the motives of consultation and more frequent diagnoses, the duration of the processes, types of terms, among other aspects that contribute us to the knowledge of the population that we are attending are described. Finally, it offers approaches that will guide future attention in the unit.	en-US
dc.description	La salud mental de los estudiantes es una problemática frecuente en las instituciones de educación superior. Las demandas de atención suelen superar las horas disponibles, lo que obliga al análisis de las estadísticas del servicio para una planificación que favorezca la eficiencia del servicio. La presente investigación da cuenta de las características de los alumnos ingresados en una unidad de atención psicológica universitaria desde su creación en octubre del 2007 hasta enero 2009. Se describen datos demográficos, los motivos de consulta y diagnósticos más frecuentes, la duración de los procesos, tipos de término, entre otros aspectos que nos aportan al conocimiento de la población que estamos atendiendo. Por último, se plantean propuestas que orientan la atención futura en la unidad.Palabras Clave: psicoterapia, estudiantes universitarios, salud mental	es-ES
