| dc.description | This article, derived from my doctoral thesis, analyzes the artistic practices in the public space of Parque Castelli Neighborhood Assembly after the flood in La Plata city (Buenos Aires) in 2013 and the dispute, mainly with the Municipality, over that space. It focuses on the neighborhood space, where the artistic practices of the Assembly were carried out. It was based on a qualitative methodology and a transdisciplinary theoretical perspective, which implies a complex view of the relationship between the social political process and artistic productions. It required participant and non-participant observation; semi-structured interviews to the assembly members; and a transdisciplinary methodological design composed from the contributions of Urban Sociology, Social Studies of Art, and Political Geography. The analyzed symbolic-material practices of repossession and construction of public space identified conflicts, antagonisms, and other ways of conceiving and constructing that space. In this sense, the urban space, as a social construction where the material and the symbolic are connected, unleashes multiplicity of demands; projects; and social dynamics, including artistic-cultural proposals. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo, se propone analizar las prácticas artísticas en el espacio público de la Asamblea Vecinal Parque Castelli en la post inundación de la ciudad de La Plata (Buenos Aires) y la disputa por dicho espacio, principalmente con la Municipalidad. El foco estará puesto en el espacio barrial, lugar donde se situaron las prácticas artísticas de la Asamblea. Se partió de una metodología cualitativa y desde una perspectiva teórica transdisciplinar, lo cual implica una mirada compleja de la relación entre el proceso político social y las producciones artísticas. Se recurrió a la observación participante y no participante, entrevistas semi estructuradas a asambleístas y un diseño metodológico transdisciplinario compuesto por los aportes de la sociología urbana, los estudios sociales del arte y la geografía política. Las prácticas simbólico-materiales de reapropiación y construcción del espacio público aquí analizadas visibilizaron conflictos, antagonismos y otras formas de concebir y construir dicho espacio. En este sentido, el espacio urbano, en tanto construcción social en la que se entretejen lo material y lo simbólico, se desatan multiplicidad de demandas, proyectos y dinámicas sociales, entre ellas las propuestas artístico-culturales. | es-ES |
