| dc.description | Los movimientos sociales constituyen un fenómeno histórico con diferentes formulaciones y caracteres según los contextos y países. En el caso del movimiento obrero, se destacan su afán universalista al tiempo que su capacidad de adaptación a las realidades locales. A través del ejemplo de una región periférica española, como es Galicia, se muestra esa virtualidad adaptativa del movimiento obrero, al que se analiza desde diferentes aspectos organizativos, ideológicos y de actuación como un movimiento social. Se apunta la idea de que en su actuación, el movimiento obrero se definió en última instancia por su defensa de la extensión de los derechos de ciudadanía a todos los sectores sociales y, del mismo modo, fue víctima de la reacción violenta que se fue gestando al calor de su actividad. Abstract Social movements can be understood as a historical phenomenon with varying characters through the different countries. In the case of the Labour Movement, it should be noted both its universalistic approach and its capacity of adaptation to the local context. Through the example of a Spanish peripheral region, as it is Galicia, this article aims to demonstrate the adaptative nature of the Labour Movement, through the analyses of the organisational, ideological and practical dimensions of the social movement. It also shows that the main objective of the movement was the extension of the rights of citizenship to the whole society, at the same it was the victim of the violent reaction of their opponents. | es-ES |
