| dc.description | The meaning of the concept of "cultural identity" has acquired a great diffusion in the area of knowledge of human relations. Despite this, it has not always generated warm welcomes as it is timidly accepted by some and rejected by others. This has been influenced, in my opinion, by the fact that their different interpretations have been adjusted, generally, to non-scientific criteria thatin many cases suffer from inaccuracies and even superficiality. Precisely, its appropriate theoretical, methodical, gnoseological andlogical approaches are scarce or have been accommodated to linear and reductionist thinking, causing incoherent dichotomies and a growing, and no less hermetic border of knowledge regarding the concept that is the object of our exposition. Therefore, the intention of this article is to contribute to the clarification of a concept that, far from being speculative, is involved ‒possibly more than any other‒ with the paradoxical behaviors in the daily reality of diverse individuals and social groups. So much so, that it is not possible to understand the behavior of the latter, ‒including from the formation of nations to bloody contemporary ethnic, religious and territorial wars‒, without first clarifying its theoretical content. Theory, with successes and failures, is usually the guide for practice, without underestimating the fact that the latter is what teaches the blind to walk in their infinite darkness. | en-US |
| dc.description | El significado del concepto de “identidad cultural” ha adquirido una gran divulgación en el área del conocimiento de las relacioneshumanas. A pesar de ello, no siempre ha generado cálidas bienvenidas pues es aceptado tímidamente por algunos y desechado por otros. En ello ha incidido, a mi juicio, el hecho de que sus diferentes interpretaciones han estado ajustadas, generalmente, a criterios no científicos que adolecen en muchos casos de imprecisiones y hasta de superficialidad. Justamente, sus abordajes teóricos, metódicos, gnoseológicos y lógicos apropiados escasean o han sido acomodados al pensamiento lineal y reduccionista, causante de dicotomías incoherentes y una creciente, y no menos hermética fronterización del conocimiento respecto al concepto que es objeto de nuestra exposición. Por ello, la intención de este artículo es contribuir al esclarecimiento de un concepto que, lejos de ser especulativo, está involucrado ‒posiblemente más que cualquier otro‒ con los paradójicos comportamientos en la realidadcotidiana de individuos y grupos sociales diversos. Tanto es así, que no es posible comprender el comportamiento de estos últimos, ‒incluidos desde la formación de las naciones hasta cruentas guerras étnicas, religiosas y territoriales contemporáneas‒, sin esclarecer antes su contenido teórico. La teoría, con aciertos y desaciertos, suele ser el lazarillo de la práctica, sin menospreciar el hecho de que esta última es la que enseña al ciego a andar en su infinita oscuridad. | es-ES |
