| dc.description | RESUMENLa influencia del alcohol sobre la respuesta sexual humana (RSH) ha sido ampliamente abordada en la literatura científica. El trabajo revisa la fisiopatología de la erección peneana, los efectos farmacológicos a corto, mediano y largo plazo del alcohol y cómo repercuten estos en la erección produciendo disfunción eréctil (DE). Presenta además, la epidemiología del trastorno en sujetos dependientes al alcohol y la etiología de los mismos para exponer conclusiones que se derivan de la revisión realizada donde destaca el hecho de la alta prevalencia de la DE en sujetos dependientes al alcohol y el impacto que tiene sobre la autoestima y la calidad de vida del varón. La alta permisividad social ante el consumo de alcohol y los tabúes existentes en torno a la solicitud de ayuda por los varones influyen en que la DE sea una entidad clínica infradiagnosticada.Palabras claves: disfunción eréctil, dependencia al alcohol, etiología de la disfunción eréctil en la dependencia al alcohol. ABSTRACTThe influence of alcohol on human sexual response (HSR) has been widely discussed in the scientific literature. The paper reviews the pathophysiology of penile erection, the short, medium and long-term pharmacological effects of alcohol and how they affect the erection producing erectile dysfunction (ED). It also presents the epidemiology of the disorder in alcohol-dependent subjects and their etiology to present conclusions that are derived from the review carried out, which highlights the fact of the high prevalence of ED in alcoholdependent subjects and the impact it has on self-esteem and quality of life of the man. The high social permissiveness in the face of alcohol consumption and the existing taboos around the request for help by men influence that ED is an underdiagnosed clinical entity.Key words: erectile dysfunction, alcohol dependence, etiology of erectile dysfunction in alcohol dependence. | es-ES |
