dc.description	RESUMEN Se exponen algunas hipótesis que resultan de escudriñar, a través de la documentación "clasificada" del Archivo Nacional de Chile, la escena política en la que se inserta la "cuestión de la Araucanía" en el siglo XIX. La motivación de trasladarse a ese tiempo-espacio radica en la intuición que allí se encuentran, al parecer, algunas de las claves históricas y estructurales de la situación mapuche en el siglo XX. Nos hemos sentido siempre disconformes y molestos con la narrativa llamada "Pacificación de la Araucanía" y sus dos polos estructurantes: el mosto (estudios fronterizos) y la pólvora (la guerra y el exterminio). La razón del malestar se afincan en que esa narrativa sirve poco para entender la faz política (contractual) de las relaciones "interétnicas" en el siglo XX: los diputados mapuches (desde Melivilu en 1920 a las propuestas de Huenchumilla en el 2000); las organizaciones como la Sociedad Caupolicán (1910), la Federación Araucana (1920) el Frente Único (1938), la Corporación Araucana (1938-70), etc.; la obsesión de las comunidades reduccionales y de sus "representantes" por la ley y por hacer del Estado el tercer incluido, es decir, el mediador en los conflictos intra e interétnico; y desde fines del siglo XX, el etnonacionalismo.PALABRAS CLAVE: Mapuche - "Pacificación" - Política indígena - Organizaciones indígenas.FROM THE COLONIAL PACT TO THE REPUBLICAN PACT.ABSTRACT In this work we expose some hypothesis resulting from the surveying of the “classified” documentation of the National Archives of Chile regarding the political scenario of the 19th century, where the “issue of the Araucania” is inserted. The purpose of going back to that time-space stems from the intuition of apparently having there some of the historical and structural keys of the Mapuche situation in the 20th century. We have always been annoyed and in disagreement with the account called “Pacification of the Araucania” and its two structuring poles: the must (border studies) and the gunpowder (the war and the extermination). The reason of the discomfort is settled in the understanding that this account is of no use to understand the (contractual) political scene of the “interethnic” relationships in the 20th century: the Mapuche representatives (from Melivilu in 1920 to the proposals of Huenchumilla in 2000), organizations such as the Caupolicán Society (1910), the Araucanian Federation (1920), the Frente Único (1983), the Araucanian Corporation (1938-70), etc.; the obsession of the reductionist communities and their “representatives” about Law and making of the State the third party, that is, the mediator of the intra and interethnic conflicts; and, towards the end of the 20th century, the Ethnonationalism.KEY WORDS: Mapuche - “Pacification” - Indigenous politics - Indigenous organizations.	es-ES
