dc.description	This research associates a theoretical dimension -the study of political identities- with an empirical dimension linked to the characteristics of the collective identity of the Radical Civic Union and, in particular, to one of its central aspects, the cleavage between political-administrative honesty and corruption. The hypothesis guiding this research is based on a central assumption: the hyperinflationary crisis of 1989 and the anticipated withdrawal of the Alfonsín government were far from constituting a checkmate to radical identity. The aim is to show that it was, above all, from the Pact of Olivos and the truncated experience of the UCR-FREPASO government, where the keys to the decline of radical identity can be traced; a strong identity that had been anchored for more than a century in the social imaginary of Argentines in correlation with the defense of political democracy and republican honesty.	en-US
dc.description	Esta investigación asocia una dimensión teórica –el estudio de las identidades políticas- con una dimensión empírica vinculada a las características de la identidad colectiva de la Unión Cívica Radical y, en particular, a uno de sus aspectos centrales, el clivaje entre honestidad política-administrativa y corrupción. La hipótesis que guía esta investigación parte de un supuesto central, que no ha sido trabajado en la literatura especializada sobre el tema: la crisis hiperinflacionaria de 1989 y el retiro anticipado del gobierno de Alfonsín distaron de constituir un jaque mate a la identidad radical. Se trata de demostrar que fue, sobre todo, a partir del Pacto de Olivos y de la trunca experiencia del gobierno UCR-FREPASO, donde cabe rastrear las claves del declive de la identidad radical; una identidad fuerte que se había anclado durante más de un siglo en el imaginario social de los argentinos en correlación con la defensa democracia política y la honestidad republicana.	es-ES
