| dc.description | El texto examina la asociación entre reflexión política e interpretación histórica en dos grandes publicistas liberales de la Restauración (1814–1830). Momento relevante puesto que, en esos años, se renovó la concepción de la Historia y se reformuló la reflexión política como consecuencia del impacto que produjo el «ciclo revolucionario» (1770–1815). El artículo pone en paralelo dos universos históricos y políticos diferentes: el primero, propuesto por Constant, inspirado en el anacronismo del mundo de los Antiguos, que formuló oponiendo la libertad de los antiguos con la de los modernos, para asociar la soberanía popular con laslibertades individuales; el segundo, propuesto por Guizot, que retomó una novedosa interpretación de la historia europea, haciendo abstracción del mundo clásico con el propósito de compatibilizar el gobierno representativo, cuyo origen identificó con el sufragio capacitario, inspirado, a la vez, en la crítica de la soberanía popular asociando una lectura de las prácticas de las asambleas germánicas con la impugnación a Rousseau. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The text analyses the association between political reflection and historical interpretation in two great liberal publicists of the Restoration (1814–1830). The period is essential since, in those years, the conception of history was renewed and political reflection was reformulated as a consequence of the impact produced by the «revolutionary cycle» (1770–1815). The article parallels two different historical and political universes: the first, proposed by Constant, was inspired by the anachronism of the Ancients, which Constant formulated opposing the liberty of the ancients with that of the Moderns to combine popular sovereignty with individual liberties; the second, proposed by F. Guizot, took up a new interpretation of European history,abstracting from the classical world in order to make representative government, wose origin was established in that history, compatible with capacitaire suffrage, inspired in the critique of Germanic assemblies | en-US |
