| dc.description | The Migration is permeated by economic, political, social and cultural factors, however,the state of health, particularly that focused on sexual and reproductive health,plays a vital role in the fulfillment of the migratory objective. This study presents experiencesof Haitian migrants in accessing sexual health services, during the journeyfrom Haiti to Mexico. A qualitative study with an ethnographic approach was carriedout, in which Haitian women and men, located in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexicowere interviewed seven individual interviews and twon focus groups (29 people)were conducted. The lack of knowledge and approach to the various health systemsin Latin America, the socio-cultural background on health and sexuality, the conditionof the migratory status and the conditions and characteristics of the trip are centralelements in the experiences of the Haitian migrant population. | en-US |
| dc.description | La migración se encuentra permeada por factores económicos, políticos, sociales yculturales, no obstante, el estado de salud, particularmente el enfocado a la saludsexual y reproductiva, funge un rol vital en el cumplimiento del objetivo migratorio.Este estudio presenta experiencias de personas migrantes haitianas en el acceso aservicios de salud sexual, durante el recorrido de Haití a México. Se realizó un estudiocualitativo con enfoque etnográfico, en el cual se entrevistaron a mujeres y hombreshaitianos, ubicados en Mexicali, Baja California, México. Se realizaron siete entrevistasindividuales y dos grupos focales (29 personas). El desconocimiento y acercamientoa los diversos sistemas de salud de América Latina, los antecedentes socio-culturalessobre la salud y la sexualidad, la condición del estado migratorio y las condicionesy características del viaje, son elementos centrales en las vivencias de la poblaciónmigrante haitiana. | es-ES |
