For this article, we have decided to reflect on the establishment of the global pattern of sustainable development during the period 1990-2000, and how it influenced the city of Córdoba, Argentina in order to account for the factors that gave rise to certain mechanisms. that structured the government policy that was conceived at that time and that makes the historical-environmental reality that occurs today, mainly regarding the problem of water pollution. We will analyze specific cases that became milestones in the environmental issue of water in our city, such as the flooding of the Taym plant in 2017, and the case of the privatization of the "Aguas Cordobesas" water service, examples that demonstrate the way in which environmental policies, elaborated from international experiences and mandates, influenced the political-economic structures of our territories, affecting power relations, increasing the concentration of capital and deepening the social inequality that had already been developing in the past. country, both internally and externally, as well as the actions of the different actors of society before the deployment of this environmental management structure.Para el presente artículo, hemos decidido reflexionar sobre la instauración del patrón mundial de desarrollo sustentable durante el período 1990-2000, y cómo el mismo influyó en la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina a fin de dar cuenta de los factores que dieron lugar a ciertos mecanismos que estructuraron la política gubernamental que se gestó en aquel momento y que hace a la realidad histórico-ambiental que acontece en la actualidad, principalmente respecto a la problemática de la contaminación hídrica. Analizaremos casos puntuales que se transformaron en hitos de la temática ambiental del agua en nuestra ciudad, como la inundación de la planta Taym en el año 2017, y el caso de la privatización del servicio de agua “Aguas Cordobesas”, ejemplos que demuestran el modo en que las políticas ambientales, elaboradas a partir de las experiencias y mandatos internacionales, influyeron en la estructuras político-económicas de nuestros territorios, afectando las relaciones de poder, incrementando la concentración de capital y profundizando la desigualdad social que ya se venía gestando en el país, tanto en el plano interno como en el externo, como así también el accionar de los distintos actores de la sociedad ante el despliegue de esta estructura de gestión ambiental.
