In this paper, we will analyse the appearance, since 1999, of two political actors from Córdoba, Unión por Córdoba and Partido Nuevo, which provoked changes in the party system of the Córdoba district. Despite of being opposing political spaces and having gone through different processes of institutional construction, in this paper we will set out that both political actors looked for political legitimation through a discourse structured on signifiers such as transparency and efficiency. This was possible because of a shared partial articulation within a neoliberal imaginary, which fails to recognize the contentious character of politics.
