| dc.description | In response to the increase of migration flows through Mexico, humanitarian services for migrants have multiplied over the last ten years to the point of constituting an uneven tapestry of associations and institutions, fragile in many aspects and consolidated in others. Based on the observation of different spaces dedicated to the care of migrants in the state of Veracruz, we propose to revisit three concepts that serve to interpret this complexity: that of oasis, when shelters provide migrants with basic protection services and immediate refuge; that of node places, which can constitute humanitarian spaces when they offer administrative and legal support and concentrate resources and actors; and that of networks, which articulate the above in a complex fabric of local, regional and international, governmental or associative entities. The three aspects are combined in time. The three aspects are combined in time, space, and levels of action, which explains the lability and adaptability of the humanitarian system dedicated to migrants. | dc.description | Respondiendo al aumento de la población en movimiento que pasa por México, los servicios humanitarios para migrantes se han multiplicado en los últimos diez años, hasta constituir un tejido desigual de asociaciones e instituciones, frágil en muchos aspectos y consolidado en otros. A partir de la observación de diferentes espacios dedicados a la atención a migrantes en el estado de Veracruz, proponemos revisitar tres conceptos que sirven para interpretar esta complejidad: el de oasis, cuando los albergues proveen a los y las migrantes con servicios básicos de protección y refugio inmediato; el de lugares nodos que pueden constituir los espacios humanitarios cuando ofrecen apoyo administrativo y jurídico y concentran recursos y actores, y el de redes que articulan los anteriores en un tejido complejo de entidades locales, regionales e internacionales, gubernamentales o asociativas. Los tres aspectos se combinan en tiempos, espacios y niveles de acción, lo que explica la labilidad y adaptabilidad del sistema humanitario dedicado a migrantes.
